Dr. Robyn Della
Dr. Della grew up in Canandaigua, NY a small town in the upstate Finger Lakes region of the state. She spent three years at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY, graduating in 2000 with a B.S. in Animal Science. Dr. Della's professional training took her to London, England and to North Carolina. During her time at North Carolina State University (NCSU), Dr. Della organized a group of students to coordinate the placement of animals from the NCSU Veterinary School's shelter medicine outreach spay/neuter program into local rescue groups. While developing this program, she met Raleigh native Molly Goldston with whom she partnered to found Saving Grace Animals for Adoption, a highly successful all breed dog rescue in the Raleigh area.
After receiving her medical degree in 2005, Dr. Della moved to Morgantown, WV where she worked for a progressive, multi-doctor small animal practice for three and a half years. After leaving this clinic, Dr. Della spent a year working in a corporate veterinary practice near Pittsburgh, PA.
Although her practice interests revolve around treating the entire pet, Dr. Della particularly enjoys working on allergic skin conditions, weight management/obesity prevention and geriatric care, especially arthritis and pain management. She is currently enrolled in the certificate program for Canine Rehabilitation through the University of Tennessee. In addition, Dr. Della plans to become certified in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine in order to pair her rehabilitation skills with her interests in traditional Chinese medicine. She hopes that in the future, the combination of western medicine and traditional eastern/Chinese medicine will enable her clients' pets to live longer and healthier lives. Currently, Dr. Della is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association.
