Dr. Keith Gaines
A native of Louisville, Dr. Gaines fostered his love for animals as a child, raising and showing beef cattle through the local 4-H. He attended the University of Kentucky’s pre-veterinary program and graduated in 1972. Dr. Gaines then went on to attend Auburn University’s College of Veterinary Medicine graduating in 1976. After veterinary school Dr. Gaines returned to Louisville and worked as an associate veterinarian at Audubon Animal Hospital and Cherokee Animal Hospital from 1976-1983.
After leaving those clinics he worked for Johnson Animal Clinic as an associate until 1989. In May of 1989, he opened Breckenridge Animal Hospital. Since establishing Breckenridge Animal Hospital, Dr. Gaines has established Anchorage Animal Hospital in Anchorage, KY. In the clinic Dr. Gaines’ main interests involve soft tissue and some orthopedic surgeries, internal medicine and allergy management.
